2. BEGIN WRITING AND PUBLISHING
You have gone over your reluctance and ready to move into the wonderful world of “Personal Branding”. The next step is to take the bold step of writing and publishing content that is “Valuable for the audience” and “Region Specific”. Again, your Brand is the content and “Not What You are Wearing or Driving.
a. I wrote my first blog in a fit of rage. I had a boss who would relentlessly lie so I vented it out by publishing “Bullshitting your way to the top”(https://tinyurl.com/yajpkfvf). After a good review and there I was buzzing in the world of blogging. You do not have to do the same but select a topic close to your heart and take the plunge.
b. Start off by writing a POST on LinkedIn that is restricted to 1300 Characters rather than going for a full-length article. Insert a Visual or a relevant link (Video or Statistics etc). I update regular market feedback about “Mobile Business” and Insert “Hand Drawn” schematics.
c. Be region specific, write content that is relevant for your market. There are several blogs highlighting technologies that haven’t yet made it to this region or socio-economic issues pertinent to Canada that is totally irrelevant in the Middle East. One of the best updates I have recently seen are from African bloggers based in the US but writing about the impact of new tech on their countries and markets.
